I always keep an eye out for ex-hammers and hope they do well.

How does that fit in with the ex-girlfriend analogy?

Re: I would really like Allardyce to fail
No, but this is football, iron. Something you rant, rave, be irrational and "panto" about in certain circumstances. So, as has been said, poor analogy.

Fine, even if he was.

The point is do you keep talking about it with your new girlfriend?

"As previously said the pantomime nature of football is fantastic. Wanting our London rivals to lose, enjoying seeing the big clubs turned over, the likes of costa mourinho terry getting their comeuppance every now and then, isn't that all enjoyable?"

Spot on. Separates football fans from the borefest of the rugby lot

i really don't give 2 fucks how Sunderland do , he did the job he was bought in to do at West Ham and we have moved on , why can't people just look towards our future instead of dwelling on the past .

"before he went there I didn't have much interest but now they'll be the first results I check."

And I honestly find that a little sad, seems like he has done an emotional number on people, as I said, but each to their own.

"When you break up with a girl and find a better one, do you keep talking about the old one?"

Let's face it though, allardyce was like being stuck with a bad blind date who kept on sabotaging your attempts at pulling something decent.

Poor analogy IOC, I'm not sure any of these lads have had a girlfriend...............hence the anger.

Re: I would really like Allardyce to fail

Can't I do both?

As previously said the pantomime nature of football is fantastic. Wanting our London rivals to lose, enjoying seeing the big clubs turned over, the likes of costa mourinho terry getting their comeuppance every now and then, isn't that all enjoyable?

And now we get the chance to see BFS get relegated.

I'm loving it and before he went there I didn't have much interest but now they'll be the first results I check.

More seriously I basically agree with your first point.

There were moments I enjoy about the last four years and don't tell me people at Upton Park didn't as well because I was there at times with them.

But we have improved and generally the spirit is better and things are looking great.

Why not enjoy that?

When you break up with a girl and find a better one, do you keep talking about the old one?

I know it's early days but I don't know anyone who doesn't think watching the football this season is more enjoyable than the last 4 years.

It was fucking dire for the majority of the fat cunt's reign and if you enjoyed watching the long ball rubbish his teams play then good for you.

Re: I would really like Allardyce to fail

"some west ham fans that aren't bothered if Chelsea or spurs win or lose."

Football has changed so much

When I was a kid in the 70's, and WHU were away, we used to go over and see the Daggers or Southend, maybe even Charlton. We used to cheer that Home side on. Millwall were the only ones who we were bothered about.

When my Dad used to go as a Kid in the 40's, all London clubs were there to be supported. He was brought up around QPR as a kid and would think nothing of going to Spurs or Chelsea. The Northern teams like the Scousers were the ones to give shit to.

One of the lads I work with whos only 20 odd will have it that Spurs are our closest rivals and they are the natural arch enemy of WHU...Where as I dont give a shit for them either way.

Personally I wouldnt waste my time 'hating' Spurs or Chelsea, it feels a bit manufactured and other than the recent stadium issue I see no reason to dislike them any more so than Charlton or Barnet...Just another London team.
